BRACC is comprised of members of the SBA Senate whose responsibility it is to know and understand the bylaws as well as recommend proposed changes for the benefit of the SBA. BRACC is currently undergoing a total overview of the bylaws. Notably, the election bylaws are dramatically changing to reflect long-desired revisions, including the addition of internet campaigning. The committee, chaired by Senator Lee, hopes to bring student awareness and increased voter turnout in the upcoming election. Frank Sardinha III, James Lector, Brian Hanley, and Michael Stevenson are working collaboratively to give these stale bylaws a much-needed facelift.
Green-U Committee
Headed by Claire Rumler, the Green-U Committee is dedicated to making UM Law more environmentally friendly. The filtered water fountain recently installed in the water fountain adjacent to the bricks is working overtime to keep UM Law Green, one water bottle at a time. The committee has worked hard to implement more recycling facilities and is working every day to make Miami Law less wasteful for the future generations of UM Law.
Judicial and Executive Appointments Committee
The Committee is currently interviewing Dean's Cup Chair hopefuls in order to bring back the coveted Dean's Cup to it's rightful home--UM Law! It's fearless leader Justin Edell is working with Paige Reese, this year's Head of Dean's Cup, Senators Brian Hanley, Bridget Schultz and Mick Erlickson to appoint the best Chairs to facilitate the annual sporting competition between UM's law and medical schools.
Budget and Finance Committee
The Budget and Finance Committee is proud to announce that it has recently passed the Fall 2012 Budget. The budget has changed notably from years passed. This year the SBA plans to bring diversity to SBA socials such as Beer at the Rat. As a long-standing tradition, Beer at the Rat will of course continue it's legacy. However, Bar Review is now going to be integrated in order to give UM Law students a taste of Miami outside of campus. Frank Sardinha III, Chair of the committee, Chris Brennan, SBA Treasurer, and Mick Erlickson, 2L Senator, have worked tirelessly to give students a metaphorical bang for their well-spent buck.
Social Planning Events Committee (SPEC)
Adam Sackrin, Chair of the committee, as well as Senators Justin Edell, Alexander Roth, Brian Hanley, Ryan McCarthy, and James Lechter are currently planning many socials and parties for UM Law. The committee plans to throw their annual Hal-Law-Ween party, a holiday social, tailgates for UM football games, and many other events for Miami Law Students to come out and socialize with their peers and to make professional connections in the community. They love feedback and welcome any new ideas.
